View Profile Consult Now Hire NowThe key feature of this project is the juxtaposition of two vintage French cabinets to custom-made sculptural steel pieces, bar/screen and a bookshelf. The intent was to create a visual tension between old and new, the warm aged wood with intricate intarsia of the cabinets and the industrial feel of the dark steel structures. The custom designed Harmonica Bar and Overhang, both screen and bar is the heart of the kitchen and a focal point of the entry zone of the apartment. The design concept is based on the current trends of upcycling and re-use of old furniture in a new setting.
