The system combines visual display, stereophonic sound and force feedback to create an immersive operating experience. Two teaching modes, hands on and shared haptic, and a training mode guide learners along recorded expert paths that produce attraction and resistance. The hardware measures 400 by 400 by 1400 millimetres and is set at an ergonomic height. The software is developed with Unity3D. VR Mentor reduces the need for anatomical specimens and lowers training costs.
