KK-Park Signage System by Updesign
KK-Park Signage System
KK-Park Signage System
Located in the China-South Korea (Yancheng) Industrial Park, the site of a former playground, after renovation, was restored to a Sino-Korean cultural exchange leisure block. The site's mission is to publicize the city brand and promote South Korean culture. China is correlated with South Korea in terms of history and culture. The design deconstructs and rebuilds the Korean elements such as iconic ribbons of traditional Korean costume, the traditional Korean color "Obangsaek" and strokes characteristics of Korean characters.

Eastern Seawall Signage System and Environmental Graphic
The Eastern Seawall project was to connect 6 areas visually by unified signage systems, creating a unique experience for visitors to enjoy native features and vitality. While avoiding intrusive design, designers took "reading on the way" as a main design concept. It provides visitors with a fresh, interesting, and complete experience to read information, such as signboards, site maps, and ecology introductions for roads and entrances. Modular structures were adopted to meet the needs of different venues.

Henri Rousseau's impressionist style is ingeniously applied as the main visual elements into this project. Wayfinding signs are designed as interesting impressionist-illustration silhouettes here and there in the park, creating a tranquil eco-friendly hilly aura for visitors. The artist's thoughts and the project's purposes are brought into resonance by the concept of harmony between human and nature.

Corbusier architectural language is well extracted and expressed in the wayfinding-sign design in this project. In general, the whole rough bold appearance is featured by exaggerated crude concrete components and exposed unfinished structures and facilities; in detail, cool shadows of heavy metal materials produce artistic 3D visual effects, conveying a powerful sense of minimalism.

OCT OHBAY Wayfinding Signage System
China, Shenzhen City, 95 percent of its population are made up of migrants who came to this long and narrow coastal region over the past 30 years. It's similar to New York City, yet its fast growth means life is extremely hectic. This fastest-paced city in the world needs to implement measures that ease the insecurity of its migrants. The urban park in this project is the most popular place for relaxation with its long shoreline. Pebbles have been chosen as the theme of the signage system as it resonates with the life experiences of migrants and shows the human side of the city.
