View Profile Consult Now Hire NowThe objective of this nZeb House in Limassol was to develop a bioclimatic structure that maximizes thermal comfort by capitalizing on the local environmental conditions. The design focuses on an open orientation towards the south and scenic views, integrating the interior and exterior spaces through extensive glass surfaces. To address the need for sun protection, a distinctive white Z-shaped structure was implemented, seamlessly integrating the parking area with the main volume. Exposed concrete, large wooden surfaces, and a neutral white color palette were selected to enhance the aesthetic.

The inspiration that triggered the design of this bioclimatic house, was the creation of a white Z shaped form, which characterizes its morphology, whilst it serves as a passive sun protection system. The spaces were translated in volumes and placed into the cavities of this white form and the design is moved by simple geometries and materials. The house exploits the environmental conditions, which led into proper natural ventilation and lighting, combined with high performance active systems, led to energy savings, and achieved thermal comfort for the users.
