To enhance sustainability, the design preserves the existing structure, wrapping it in a lightweight expanded metal mesh and a double layer wall system. This facade creates a dialogue between solid and void, offering a light, dynamic contrast to the surrounding urban fabric. At its core, a central courtyard unifies diverse programs including a bookstore, dining, concert venue and retails. Tree inspired column and an organic layout foster a welcoming, park-like atmosphere that encourages community interaction and social engagement.

The overall concept is based on the traditional house in Taiwan, which reminds one of the good old times. Constructed via modern methods, the traditional vocabulary is reinterpreted through steel structure, glass and etc. A courtyard represents "Cheng" (a place for sun drying in traditional Taiwanese housing) is surrounded by different functional spaces. The mezzanine platform between two floors allows the flexibility of events. Allowing workshops, exhibitions and commercial events take place, the building is now a happening venue open for all, achieving a more positive corporate image.

The first element of the space is a vanishing bookstore, which is expressed with the concept of a "home". At the space core, there is a skylight courtyard at the center with a waxberry tree, surrounded by interlacing platforms of different floor heights, creating an open space layout. Moreover, the flexible changes of the displays and layouts suit different functions. All these resemble the image of the traditional Chinese courtyard residence, which also a place for the co-living of people, creating a sense of warmth for the urban life.
