Monmono Blue Restaurant and Gallery
The implication of blue in a realistic vintage design with a surreal monochrome environment showing more design details in a mysterious, calm and elegant ambiance, emphasize the playfulness of the theme. Scenes like a casino in the US, a hotel in the UK, retail in France and a piazza in Rome turned the entire shop into a movie scene. By combining various realistic worldwide vintage scenes and architecture into the abstract world of blue, taking the advantage of a monochrome style to find harmony between different eras and styles, creating a unique art piece in the city.

The project aims at reinterpreting and translating Hong Kong into visualization while keeping the brand identity. The material of the feature wall represents Hong Kong as a forest of concrete, the geometry renders the building facade with balconies and the density, and the lighting mimics the households. The middle LED ceiling symbolizes the “Linear Sky Exposure” of Hong Kong, the Leon lights imitate the highway under long exposure photography, symbolizing prosperous Hong Kong, speed and heavy traffic. For futuristic touch, LED trims and floating-like portal with bamboo are designed.

The design of Camellia is in loft, modern and French style, responding to the brand identity and design of the mall; surrounding by pink flowers, echoes with the black tone with gold trim, mirror, and Arc, like a flower festival in Paris, the Floral City. Pink is extensively used as a theme from design, furniture, utensil to food, such as flower wall, marble table, chair & bench, napkin, coffee, noodle soup, and even the toilet. Also, the shape of chairs actually renders the petals of Camilla and some walls are finished by antique mirrors for spreading the pink flower walls by reflection.
