The ARC stripes were made and connected using laminated veneer techniques which combine three strips to form a spherical structure. Each strip has to connect with two other strips thus each strip needs to have four joints to be set precisely. Because of the unique shape, the Table could easily fit in contemporary, it could act as furniture or a piece of art.

Arc Armchair was inspired by the modern architectures and the ponderation of space design on how to composite structures that are not over-decorated and form a new pattern that is elegant and enchanted. This is an outstanding armchair made out of hardwood with overcome various of structural challenges and woodcrafting techniques. The armchair is comfortable with its own personality, lay back, light in weight and with a pretty structure and appearance.

The bridge DNA chair designed it based on people’s needs. cutting the back and the bottom of the seat surface into a cambered surface, and designed a downward bending at the seat and back to make it comfortable for sitting. For the round connecting plate, Maple as my material so that the overall structure became the visual focus. Succeeded in designing the chair with the spirit of a bridge. It is very light in all aspects: both visually and from a weight perspective.

Arc guitar stand was inspired by the modern architectures and the ponderation of space design on how to composite structures that are not over-decorated and form a new pattern that is elegant and enchanted. The arc strips were made and connected by using laminated veneer techniques and then combined joints and form a stable triangular body of structure. The guitar sits steady within the structure. And because of the unique shape, the stand could easily fit in contemporary, it could act as a tool or a piece of art.

Before the digital devices took over the position of how entertainment media was delivered, phonograph was one of the few but important devices that people used and enjoyed music. Family and friends get together and share a good time. The idea is to recreate the atmosphere when people are very close to each other and share something beautiful together. The bench was inspired by phonograph. Users sitting on it could interact with each other and kids could play underneath it. The design of higher than the middle in the 2 ends makes people sitting on it get closer spontaneously.

This work centers on the relationship between bridge structure, construction methods and timberwork, coming from the processes of design and manufacturing. In this project, I intend to discover and develop different characteristics of different structures and materials and create works that are visually powerful.
