Oases Restaurant by OTG
Oases Restaurant
Oases Restaurant
At Newark Liberty International Airport, previously underutilized corridors containing moving walkways were re-purposed to feature expansive food and beverage offerings in fresh "oases." Each oasis has a different restaurant or bar and is approximately three meters wide by forty-six meters long. Going beyond simple structural solutions, the designs create an appealing sense of place in the formerly bleak airport hallways. The experience is further enhanced with the numerous site-specific artworks that have been commissioned from established artists and incorporated into each oasis.

Ember Restaurant
At Ember, classic materials such as black and white tiles, copper, blackened metal, and wood bring the elegance of traditional urban steakhouses to the center of Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Ember has a 360-degree exposure to the terminal and features a canopy of 6,225 copper Texas stars floating above. Diners sit under a wood plank ceiling filled with copper pipe chandeliers and exposed Edison bulbs. The kitchen has an open-fire, wood-burning grill. The design also includes a social media feature, incorporating a sign that reads "Everything is Bigger."

Kaedama Restaurant
Kaedama is a modern Asian noodle bar at Newark Airport's Terminal C. The cornerstone of this restaurant is the forty-foot sculpture located above it, in the form of an abstract gold noodle wrapped with a hand-woven LED light mesh. The mesh features 17,000 interconnected lights that display animated designs and creates a dynamic setting. The animations and choreographed lighting have been integrated to highlight the curvature in the design of the structure. To add to the experience, the chefs stand on a platform directly under the sculpture to highlight the theater of making fresh noodles.

Bam Bam Restaurant
Bam Bam is a Vietnamese-Cajun beer garden that features a long, continuous bar that wraps through the space, punctuated with fluted bamboo columns and bursts of color. Guests to the space, located in Terminal C North at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport, can comfortably dine at a central cluster of banquettes or at communal tables like you might find at a traditional beer garden. The retail area has rickshaw-style carts covered in Vietnamese newspaper print graphics. A neon sign that reads, We were made them to provide a shareable backdrop for social media moments.

Global Bazaar Fast Casual
Located in the Global Bazaar Food Hall, the dynamic concepts are the first of its kind in that the fast casual concept completely changes over from breakfast to lunch/dinner, offering travelers the best of all day parts. Each concept maintains its distinct branding and look while undergoing the transformation from breakfast to lunch/dinner. The exterior store signs and food hall signs transition using methods similar to that of theatrical set designs. Food Hall signs also change in a similar fashion.
