View Profile Consult Now Hire NowIt is a 16 m2 space, cut into a multi-sided bevel, designed to guide people’s vision by its interlacing axis. The bar is designed as a castoring triangle to correspond to the axes of the front door, the shelves behind the bar is gradiently arranged, the metal table is composed of two folded triangles, and the numbers on the wall is made by punched-plate steel. The layout sets out a boundary between guests, creating spaces within space, which is achieved by the meticulous spirit of craftsmanship.

When designing a duplex apartment, the staircase is one of the most important features. To connect the fragmented space in this duplex apartment, the designer used vertical circulation to soften the division, along with a tall-standing cuboid as the main wall, which penetrates through the first and second floor. The main wall is also used as a division between the living room and the dining area, adding an ensure feeling when dining, while the light shine through the engraved pattern on the wall, creating a change between shadow and light.

The home owner is an interior designer and interested in saving energy daily, therefore, energy saving would be the main concept of this case. To achieve the goals of energy saving, the designer removes partition walls to connect all ambient light and sets the area of the living room free. Using circulating water system to avoid waiting for hot water cause waste, and also combined the geothermal system to solve the problem of cold floor during winter.

Interaction of life is guided by visible media. In small-scale apartments with limited space, the worst is fragmented compartments. It makes the narrow space tighter. Therefore, making the space more flexible and multifunctional is one of the effective ways to enlarge small-scale houses. In this case, the designer applies the concept of multifunction to combine the dining table and the kitchen island, which not only offers a platform for dining and preparing meal, but also a place for tea time.
