Alienation is a primary concept of modernism; however, being together with families is what people long for. Reunion is the theme of this project master-planning. The house comprises both leisure and habitable functions, to adapt to future 3-generation family members. The accessible design is also considered and fulfilled to comply with aging society trends. Split a rectangular layout into cubicles, and integrate every section with seamless doors at the same wall. Glass sliding doors, found in the kitchen and the library room, bring better day-lighting conditions in open-concept living areas.

Light alteration is a key factor for photo-shooting; thus, this revamp of building, built in 1982, aims to coexist with natural daylight as much as possible. Inspired by membrane semi-transparency, the facade was rebuilt with glass bricks, undermining the sloping ground line and visual heftiness. Indoors cement hollow-bricks create contrasts with glass bricks, both materials implying a synthesis of old days and new era, allowing light-transmitting freely spread out. In dawn, while interior is lit up, passers-by sit on the bench sharing illumination via glass wall, linking up city and citizens.
