View Profile Consult Now Hire NowSacred Trees II is a series of light painting photographs of ancient trees. Each image was taken after sunset or under moonlight, with exposures of five to twenty minutes. During each exposure the trees were painted with several flashlights fitted with colour gels. The finished works are presented as prints measuring 24 by 30 inches, with colours and forms arranged carefully within each frame. The series reflects an old Japanese belief that trees, rocks and water are resting places of gods, and it seeks to show the spiritual presence of nature.
