The design re-purposed the vernacular courtyard and wind towers into a dynamic social space for students which is naturally light throughout the day. The corners of the courtyard comprise internal gardens, where the architect has managed to combine the aspects of earth, water and sky. Al Shaqab is honored on the Qatar currency 100 riyal note and is very often referred to as the architectural renaissance of the traditional Qatari identity.
