The request was to transform and design the first floor of the residency to a private hair salon for reservation-only customers. Hair-salons offer space in which women come in to reset their usual business and be reborn yet more beautifully in order to start a new self. Thus the space to serve for the objectives needs to be as precise and thought-through. The space was designed to create an atmosphere that provides senses of security and trust to customers so that it would put them at ease upon receiving services and treatments on their hair.

The design concept is “Dance of wind”. The deep floor space provided good natural ventilation. As the both ends of the space provide routes for wind, it allows dance of wind to happen within the space which is represented by those pillars. Unique location of timber pillars blur the boundary of inside and outside.
