View Profile Consult Now Hire NowThe Pilotis Residence design embraced the singular characteristics of its steep terrain, creating an aesthetic movement of asymmetrical volumes positioned in different levels and functions, in a modern and minimalist concept. These blocks, in concrete, were overlapped as if floating over the street level, minimizing the height of the construction. The integration of all social activities on a main level, surrounded by gardens, brought functionality and much comfort. Few internal walls and large open spaces maximized the glass panels transparency and the contrast between wood and concrete.

The height, the transparency and the open spaces are the highlights of this weekend house, built on a private property near the city of São Paulo. The integrated spaces and the transparent windows and large sliding glass panels provide an experience of interaction with the gardens and with the exuberant local landscape. The living and dinner area opens out onto terraces, with spaces for resting and socialization. To give more privacy to the glazed interior spaces the main facade was blinded by a natural stone wall that emphasizes the minimalist style of the house.

Overlapping volumes and glass walls were combined to create a sense of transparency and open space in this minimalist style Sao Paulo City residence. The transparency of the living space created continuity between the large internal garden and a ray pool, providing light and union between interior and exterior, fully integrated to the house through slippery glass panels. The spatial integration aimed to promote intense interaction and coexistence among individuals in the family, one of the keys in designing this project.

This residence located in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, was developed creating distinct blocks, according to their functions as living, services and bedrooms, acomodated in three diferent levels with emphasis to space integration. The house faces the backyard providing privacy and comunication to the wide garden. On a bold design, the main stone blinded facade was softened by the vertical garden placed along the water mirror, that leads to the entry of the residence. The social spaces were closed with wide glass sliding panels bringing the feeling of a covered terrace.
