The building is distributed in only one plant, diaphanous and functional, organizing the service in the eastern part and the space of playroom opened towards the landscape in the western part. Following the organic tracing, the main form is displayed to create an exterior space linked with the central core of games. The pavement of red and white linoleum establishes the zoning of the program. To provide with a major spatial quality, according to his function, the flat cover has been fragment following a compositive scheme, introducing natural light and ventilation to the principal core.

Matrera Castle Intervention Heritage by Carlos Quevedo Rojas

Matrera Castle Intervention Heritage
This medieval tower had partially collapsed in 2013, losing part of its imposing volume and putting at risk the architectural stability of the rest of the tower. With compatibility and authenticity criteria, the intervention looks at structurally consolidating the elements, to differentiate the additions from the original structure, avoiding mimetic reconstructions, and recovering the volume and tonality that the tower originally had as a landscape icon. The essence of the project is not intended to be, therefore, an image of the future, but rather a reflection of its own past, its own origin.

Taking advantage of the local resources, we pretend to interpret and to adapt the program of traditional housing: it has been created a “zaguán” (andalusian entrance) that articulates the interior - exterior, the functional program is invested looking for the best position of the zone by day, the buildable volume diminishes punctually allowing to create exterior spaces and the interesting " diagonal look " between the peaks, the buildable interior surfaces has been diminished.

Recovery of El Pilar Orchard Housing Refurbishment
The humble housing of the horticulturists of “El Pilar”, of the XIXth century, consists in two diaphanous plants and a sloping cover, with walls of stone and wooden floors. The intervention goes to consolidate structurally the existing building, to support the spatial clarity of his interesting diaphanous spaces and to recover the original levels of the building and his relation exterior - interior.
