These artworks are part of the collection Neglect, photographed specimens of animals, most of which are extinct or critically endangered. The photographer wants to show a little bit of the sometimes bizarre beauty of the insects, so that the viewer might see them with different eyes. Because insect extinction is very real and not a made-up story. The series was produced with help and assistance of the Senckenberg German Entomological Institute.

Jellybelly Artwork
The artworks of the Jellybelly series are offered in two limited editions: 10 pieces of each motiv. Jellyfishes are one of the most fascinating species in the oceans and they have a certain aesthetics the artist wanted to capture. The pictures were shot in a big aquarium where the artist had permission to work and shoot during the night in complete darkness. Only some artificial lights inside the aquarium and from the outside were just to give the jellyfish some subtle glow.

These are photographed specimens of birds, most of whose species are extinct. The photographer Florian W. Mueller was inspired by the legend of Icarus: His father Daedalus built wings of feathers and wax for himself and his son to escape from the captivity of Minos on Crete. The son Icarus became overconfident, the wax melted and he fell into the sea. Despite his father's warnings. The parallels: Despite warnings and admonitions, the world spirals into ever higher and warmer and warmer climes, and the crash is not far away.

For Porsche China Florian W. Mueller shot in Shanghai and created some artwork for the Photofairs Shanghai, including iconic sportscars. Shanghai has many different faces. The old, traditional China, the influences of France in the "Former French Concession" and very modern glass and steel architecture. The photographer wanted to capture these different faces of the city in multiple exposures, always with a car in the picture. Because no matter how distorted the environment appears through the multiple exposure, you can always recognize the iconic design of the Porsche.

Photographer Florian W. Mueller was invited to bring together the two extremes of the northern polar region in Levi, Finland, and the Arabian desert in Liwa, UAE, with the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. He positioned the new, electric Porsche first on ice at -25 degrees Celsius north of the Arctic Circle and then in the same position to the camera and at a similar sun angle in the Arabian desert at +42 degrees Celsius and brought the two images together. Partial multiple exposures were added in the manner of his Multivision artworks.

Nightshift: An Illuminated Glimpse Into Shanghai’s Late Night Shops and Stalls. While in town for a shoot, photographer Florian Mueller would wander through the city’s streets, meeting the owners of food stalls and other businesses that stayed open into the night. The series, Nightshift, observes the inviting glow that emanates from Shanghai’s after-hours operations in addition to showcasing those that staff the small shops during the humid evenings. Flowers, carbonated beverages, cell phone cases, and ripe citrus are just some of the illuminated that appear in the suite of works.

House of Escher Photographs
As a photographer, mainly working as an artist, I am looking for the the unusual to take the ordinary from reality. This minimal and beautiful staircase is inside the "Service Center for Students" at University of Cologne, designed by Schuster Architects. This is a very good example for my work: I am looking for the right angles to create pictures where the beholder stops and asks "What is ist? Where is it?". The mind-bending angles of the staircase, evoking the quetsions above, reminded me strongly of the surrealistic drawings by MC Escher, therefore the title.

Singularity Photographs
Singularity is a series of urban buildings Florian W. Mueller collected with his photographic eye from around the world, where the neighbour-buildings, the urban environment is deleted. It's just the building and the sky. Like a sculpture on a pedestal in a clean gallery or museum. The artist isolated the buildings from their thrumming urban environments and put them on a blue-sky pedestal.

Multivision Art by Florian W. Mueller
Multivision Art
Multivision Art
This series is called Multivision, it is multilayered photography, always made of three photographies, combined to an artwork. The aim was to transport the emotions and feelings, the character of a city into artworks. The physical transparency of these alterations belies their thematic opacity, which encourages the viewer to pause and piece together Mueller's process. Mueller obliges in revealing the emotional heart of his work, as he skillfully melds moments of mystery and intrigue with flourishes of contrasting colors and the intersecting lines of his superimposed structures.

Paramnesie Art
This series is called Paramnesie, it is multilayered photography, Florian W. Mueller plays with the abstraction of memories. Dreamlike landscape pictures, confronting the viewer with the question of his memories. Paramnesie (false memory) is the psychological phenomenon in which a person recalls a memory that did not actually occur. He chose the round presentation based on early japanese photography and as a visual parallel to a keyhole. A keyhole to memories, even if these are “false” memories.
