Bubbles cocktail table by Jeffrey A Day
Bubbles cocktail table
Bubbles cocktail table
Bubbles is a light hearten interpretation of blowing bubbles. The push and pull of the table surface represents each individual bubble as they would be as 5 bubble grouping. The frame's suspended tension adds a dynamic element to the table. The tension is designed to add movement to the table. The challenge is to bring attention to a type of object that's overlooked everyday on lives. The result is to capture an organically formed 3 dimensional bubble grouping into an actual product.

Drops Coffee Table
Drops coffee table captures the beauty of rain drops by suspending the motion on the hard surface of wood. The two drops together also adds the dimension of time by having one hit the surface right after the first. The deeply sculpted legs also add to the organic nature of the design. Drops coffee table is a visually interesting and well balanced piece of furniture.

Raster side table by Jeffrey A Day
Raster side table
Raster side table
The Raster side table interacts with people by using the concept of building solids out of individual cubes of space. In this case 20mm blocks were the driving factor. Raster gives the illusion that this table is in the process of being made by assembling these blocks; conversely, it can be interpreted as a dissolving table.

Stems_CT_03 coffee table by Jeffrey A Day
Stems_CT_03 coffee table
Stems_CT_03 coffee table
Stems_CT_03 is inspired by stems, leaves and seed pods that hang from trees. The structural tubing or “stems” act as the foundational base of the piece, and is the vehicle for the design. The stems rise above the table surface and add another dimension to the piece. The Table surfaces “seed pods “are designed to be a trilogy of ovals randomly overlapping in a dominate, sub-dominate and subordinate layout. Stems_CT_03 is a whimsical look at tree pods and stems.

Ashtray_CT Table by Jeffrey A Day

Ashtray_CT Table
In developing the Ashtray coffee table, the idea was to take some of our societies outmoded or benign products and give them a new life; to alter the “image” of how we interpret these shapes. The Ashtray shape for example carries with it a connotation of being unhealthy, smoking, a passing fad, and tobacco industry; conversely, in the past it was regarded that smoking was cool, hip, sophisticated etc… From those two competing ideas, the simple shape of a dished out square transforming into a circle has no assigned meaning. The interpretation is unique to each individual.

Levels_CT coffee table
Levels concept meets the needs of how people use tables, some like it high, some like it low. Overlapping simple shapes make up the stepped planes while adding a bit more usable surface area that it also creates shadows for visual interest. Bending tubes form the central support column that peel off to provide the support for the surfaces in an unusual way.

The most interesting quality to the YRH_CT is that the shape is recognizable, and interesting due to the "bowl" feature; as evident in the location icon so commonly used in today’s Smartphone’s and laptops. The off-set legs of the base are designed to accommodate stability for the squared off corner as well as a design detail.

H20il Bench and Occasional Table
H20il is a fresh look at common everyday occurrence; it takes the properties of water and oil and transposes that organic quality into a piece of static furniture. Using two species of wood as a vehicle to create the feel of how oil reacts in water. The custom legs created for this bench is cast in a small foundry with green sand. The legs are offered in Brushed, Hammered and Raw with flashing still attached.

Setback Coffee Table by Jeffrey A Day
Setback Coffee Table
Setback Coffee Table
The qualities that Setback has are twofold. First, the design starts a non verbal dialog between user and product; this is accomplished by the random flowers cut through the material to show a shadow on the ground. Secondly, The shadow changes with the light source that illuminates the room giving it a different shadow pattern, similar to a sundial giving the time based on the moving sun placement.
