The Perspective at the Angle of 45° Residential House
All the designs of beveled spatial patterns in a partition-squared house are dedicated to the outdoor perspective in nature. The hardwood flooring, dining table, bookshelves and TV stand, are all designed in beveled geometry. Even for the boardwalk and the hygrophyte pool in the balcony, their geometry and setting are all arranged in beveled style. The environment-friendly materials are exclusively adopted in constructions, including veneer lumbers, reclaimed hardwoods and steels.

Revitalized Past Residential House by Ta-Wei Yu
Revitalized Past Residential House
Revitalized Past Residential House
The maisonette has an old rooftop addition. It is common for Taipei walkups, portraying the disorder and autonomy of living conditions. The design wants to preserve this past. Not only the original truss and decking of the rooftop addition are preserved but also the traces of deteriorated walls are saved with clear coating. To warm up the industrial vibe, planks of pallets are reused throughout the penthouse, forming the furniture collection and the backdrop wall with color stripes. While the brick and fair-faced concrete walls help anchoring the new and old elements.

A Table Residential House by Ta-Wei Yu

A Table Residential House
With all prior compartments knocked down, a long table horizontally derived from the central pillar is parallel rested under one of the axes along the cross-beam and protrudes bilaterally to define functional spaces. A table could be a partition, a banquet table, a reading desk, a vanity table etc. The separatrix between public and private domains is thereby enabled; while the projection of waving scroll in vision is spatially unfolded.

Axis and Lines Residential House by Ta-Wei Yu

Axis and Lines Residential House
In this project, there is an inevitable long linear circulation in this slender-shaped apartment. That being said, with the concept of Axis and Lines throughout the project, spaces are designed to interact with the family's activities. Dark wood flooring links up all spaces as well as divides servant and served spaces. All objects including shelves, louvers, OSB boards, and the knotted hemp ropes inter-echo creating the relationship of woven lines in the space. Anchoring the axis, the curved castle-like storage softens the overall geometry.
