Fusionista Interior Design
In this cinema, the Oft Interiors team conducted an in-depth discussion on the younger’s consumption and the economy of appearance and brought new business model thinking for the 10-year-old shopping mall. At the beginning of the reconstruction, the design team firstly analyzed and sorted out the geographical location, original building features, consumption format, project positioning, consumer groups, project types and difficulties of reconstruction, and so on, comprehensively deconstructing the cinema.

Airy Castle Cinema Design
The project is inspired by the "pulse of water", through the flowing water, to show the charm of the film in the space. A film with good intention can create ripples, as if waters have a pulse, linking and providing for its audience. When put into this design, materials were carefully selected so that the beautiful and soothing rhythm will not be over-ridded; that audience who come into this space will "go with the flow".

The Origin of a Creation Cinema
The designer is the director of the space. In addition to the design logic, the designer also needs to complete the overall control from brainstorming, material selection, cost control and finally the visual content presentation. Through this project, the designer hope to prove that design is not only visual, but also a implementation procedure of visualization.

K11 ArtHouse Cinema
In 2019, Oft was invited to make a brand new storefront design for UA's new concept flagship cinema in Hong Kong K11 musea: K11 Art House. In that experiment of space, Oft design created the first future cinema themed with snow mountain residence in Asia based on the concept of "design and new retail", which took the lead in providing reference model for the cinema as "recreational complex".

The Movement MixC Cinemas Interior Design
By analyzing the “rheological” characteristics of the film imaging symbols, MixC Cinema Buji has been created on the “Image Flow” as the basis of design, as if water takes in all the rivers and will never go dry; as if in vain, playing the rhythm of youth and vitality, full of imaginable countless possibilities. In the space, a large number of simple and smooth curved lines complemented by the liberalism of white-black fusion, branches out dynamic and fashionable space strain.

Geo-electrified Cinema
After establishing the fundamental rules of Geometry, we started to apply the concept to create geometric shapes. There are two main materials used in the lavatories: wood grain plastic laminated and black mirror. The two are highly contrasted in terms of colour and texture. By utilizing the contrast between them, we were able to draw lines and shapes we desired to display. Lights are hidden carefully and subtly in the ceiling, trying to shine in an exquisite way like a supporting actor. Because after all, the geometric shapes on the floor and walls are under the spotlight.

Deconstructivism is about moving away from the shackle of traditions, questioning pre-existing rules, challenging pre-dominating frameworks. It is a movement about freedom and oppression. This design is an attempt to participate in the movement, by creating non-rectilinear shapes that visually appear with unpredictability and controlled chaos. By disassembling space, perhaps a new meaning can be given to the usage of space.

Spirited Home Cinema
The worlds created by Japanese animated film director Miyazaki Hayao are always mesmerizing. One of his great works ‘Princess Mononoke’ sets the location in a magnificent forest, a unique setting of beautiful wildlife that the main character princess was trying so hard to protect. What if the beauty beyond imagination can be brought into reality? By strolling through the script written by Miyazaki, it is almost like walking into divine spirit’s home – surrounded by the breath of trees, trees that stand proudly on the ground barely stepped on by humans.

The Script Cinema
When we trace back the origin of a film – or the soul of it – it always comes to 'the script'. A pile of paper can work magic on films. And the same thing goes to interior design too. At the initial stage of designing, sketches and drafts happen on papers also. Leveraging this to our design concept of this cinema, the team wanted to draft a script and cast it into the interior space we had. We imagined a book of script being thrown into the air, papers forming mesmerizing curves that open a pathway for the audience to wander into a world of films.

The Emperor Cinema sits in a building called 'Entertainment Building', which was completed in 1846 and was the first generation of the Hong Kong Club. The building itself has been serving as entertainment purposes ever since. In 1928, one of the first cinemas was constructed. Through the stream of time, the building had been alternated, demolished, reconstructed into different use; until now, the third generation in history, a cinema emerged once again.

Design & survival between earth & water Cinema
There are 3 impressive little huts standing in the tent, which are housing ticket box, concession counter and ATMS, they are diverged by 3 warm tones of red, orange and green, in order to define spaces and introduce the warm mood into the interior. The warm mood has extended into the corridor area outside theatres, stucco paint acts as a media that allows the colours of red and green to confront along all the ceiling and walls.

In order to bring out the sentiment of space travel, marbles with sharp and clear black and white tones are applied at the ticket box lobby and reassembled futuristic cyber images; in addition with a series of grilles features and light troughs on ceiling, here comes the presence of being on board of a spaceship.

Circus in the town Cinema
Here comes the circus to the town, come along with the ecstasy of the sound of music that draws the crowds to come forth, to where they can see the “dots” and “lines” within the music notes dancing and adjoining each other, and telling their stories to those visitors. While entering the tent of the circus, the very first thing comes into the sight is the enormous column that support the tent. The luminous “lines” and wordings that extent from the column, in addition with the tent ceiling that radiate from this point, are telling customers this is the cinema that tells stories by its beats.

A series of poster screens decorated with white wooden strips finish are located within white stony looking tiles, it is such a disciplinal environment at the entrance, then here comes the amazing part when entering, which is the feature ceiling with massive layers of bronze coloured ornaments that glitters in front of audiences’ eyes, as well as the counter with same coloured metal pieces features on below.

The very first Emperor UA cinema has debuted under such a delightful scene, which foresees the cinema’s future path in China. Just as scattered pieces in kaleidoscope, the ceiling modules with triangle and rhombus patterns are letting light beams into the cinema, the first impression of the dazzling space has been started up as well.

Every elements in the lobby is being merged together by bronze and concrete, which are materials with industrial cue. The ceiling is broadly decorated by bronze coloured corrugated metal sheets and bronze metal I-channel, which allow the ceiling to take the role as a guide to lead people into this exhibition space with story.
