Located in a great metropolis- Shanghai, it is rare for this villa to own its unban nature landscape including a small hill with a lovely stream for the honorable host to enjoy the beauty of nature. With the help of natural landscape, terrain and architectural orientation, the designer redesigns the layout.

This is an old house built in the late Qing Dynasty. It is located on Pingjiang Road, a historic preserve in Suzhou, China. The old house has completely become ruins. Its building area is only 96 square meters. The old houses have collapsed. The roof only has lonely beams, mottled old walls, wild plants and rubbish all over the place have accumulated to the height of half a person. Designers have incorporated modern elements into the Suzhou architectural style, and the old houses which were already ruins have become very characteristic, simple and fashionable dwellings.

Sustainability of the design. This is a renovation project for an old house, the overall design includes architectural structure and facade and garden landscape then extends to the interior design. The old house has more than 20years age and inhabited by three generations. To realize the practicability and visual aesthetic unity and harmony of residential space. Cannot be rebuild, only can be renovation, under the condition of retain the original building structure for extension and reinforcement then to give old house new vitality of "minimalist" style.
