The yarns were hand spun and designed to create a three dimensional texture on a flat woven surface. The contrasts of the tight loops combined with the hanging yarns created the unique pattern of the hand knotted silk rug.The surface echoes the boldness of the blue mountains and warm golden sunsets.

Inspired by Fashion and Architecture, Michelle has made a name for herself for being a creative and edgy designer. Michelle now has several collections to her name and has exhibited them in New York, Los Angeles, Dubai and Germany. Her passion for abstract textures and people is evident in her latest works. Manaus is inspired by the rain forest in Brazil and is all about three dimensional designs creating movement. Michelle designs with an artist eye rather just designing a floor covering.

Beauty is a 2500mm by 3000mm rug in Tibetan knot, handwoven with the highest quality of 100% handspun silks. Bold, strong colors of contrasting tones of golds, oranges and purple enhances the features of the woman. Textures are introduced to add a third dimension to the face. The long silk yarns are flattened or raised as they form shadows across the face give further depth to the design. Using innovated new techniques of twisted silk yarns with long threads and flat looped knots, a modern abstract pattern is created when viewed closely.
