THE BLACK HOUSE Housing
The Black House’, is located next to a forest not far from Ammersee, one of Germany’s largest lakes one hour southwest of Munich, Bavaria. Encompassing an 80 square meter plot, ‘The Black House’ directly adjoins to a larger family home next door, yet is distinguished as an independent building. The residence is characterized by its carbonized wood facade, with rooms of different heights stacked together to create a variety of spatial situations.

Boathouse Sailing School
For the Interieur recyclable and renewable chemically untreated materials were used. In dialog with the existing building and in order to clearly distinguish the alterations, all the cladding and surfaces were realized in Aleppo pine plywood. This gave the room a peaceful feel and contrasted with the historical roof truss. The conversion work can only be guessed at from the outside. On the inside, a stimulating ensemble is created, while the impression of the hall as a whole remains perceptible.

Gamsei cocktail bar
When Gamsei opened in 2013, hyper-localism was introduced to a field of practice which had till then been mainly confined to the food scene. At Gamsei, ingredients for cocktails are either wildly foraged or grown by local artesian farmers. The bar interior, is a clear continuation of this philosophy. Just like the cocktails, Buero Wagner procured all materials locally, and worked in close collaboration with local manufacturers to produce custom-made solutions. Gamsei is a wholly integrated concept that turns the event of drinking a cocktail into a novel experience.
