Found Awareness by Chris Slabber
Found Awareness
Found Awareness
This was a self initiated project born out of a love for the mundane and the unknown. As a creative, challenges fuels progression. This specific challenge was to show that beauty can be found in the least likely of places. The only requirement is to have an open mind and to look at random found objects as more than what they appear to be.

Each piece was hand crafted to create sculptures of insects inspired by their environments and the food they eat. The artwork was used as a call to action via the Doom website too identify specific household pests. The elements used for these sculptures were sourced from junk yards, garbage dumps, river beds and super markets. Once each insect was assembled, they were photographed and retouched in photoshop.

I am Nesia Exhibition Series by Chris Slabber

I am Nesia Exhibition Series
This series of images is an interpretation of the effects that the recent lockdown had on mankind. It is a reminder of the fear felt on a global scale. Most important, it is there to remind that the human race can prevail and adapt in order to survive and ultimately overcome the damage done by the pandemic. So even though the images might come across as dark, they are in fact a celebration of the human spirit.

Life From Stone Exhibition
Each artwork is inspired and made from objects and elements collected on the grounds of Springfield Estate. The idea is to keep the photo manipulation to a minimum and let the natural forms of the infused objects do most of the work in order to create these surreal images. This is a tribute to the natural way in which Springfield Estate creates their wines. Made on honor.

Haezer Album Art by Chris Slabber
Haezer Album Art
Haezer Album Art
Haezer is known for his solid bass sound, epic breaks with well polished effects. Its the sort of sound that comes off as just straight forward dance music, but on closer inspection or listening you’ll start to discover multiple layers of frequencies within the finished product. For the creative concept and execution the challenge was to simulate the audio experience known as Haezer. The artwork style is not at all the typical dance music style, thus making Haezer a genre of his own.

We Set Sail Album Art by Chris Slabber
We Set Sail Album Art
We Set Sail Album Art
In today's society people's spirits are constantly suppressed by all the rules in order for the modern world to function. We Set Sail's music allows people to tap into their inner emotions or in this case their inner "ANIMAL" spirit. The goal was to illustrate the different contrasts of the music by blending different animals with paint clouds. Predators were used to show the aggression within the music and grazing animals were used to show the more elegant side of it.

Parallel Personal Exhibition by Chris Slabber
Parallel Personal Exhibition
Parallel Personal Exhibition
Parallel Universe… Is it really that hard to imagine? Another “Earth”? Throughout history, mankind has proven to be more self-destructive than constructive. This project is to illustrate the idea that somewhere there is a parallel universe, another human-like civilization, living in harmony with nature, and not using technology for personal gain. The visual objective was to mimic characteristics of renaissance paintings while illustrating a civilization from another world.

Destruction/Creation Print Exhibition by Chris Slabber
Destruction/Creation Print Exhibition
Destruction/Creation Print Exhibition
The primary concept of this exhibition was to simulate that from death comes new life or in this case from destruction comes creation. Human kind cannot obtain anything without first giving something in return of equal value. As the pigment falls into the water, it is constantly creating/evolving into new forms while at the opposite end it is destroying itself.
