Binhi Multifunctional Bench by Ito Kish
Binhi Multifunctional Bench
Binhi Multifunctional Bench
The Binhi (‘seed’ in Filipino) Collection is faithful to the core of it’s namesake - growth. With small seaters hosting crawling greens, medium-sized seaters supporting growing trees, and large pieces seating multiple persons, the collection fosters human relationships while keeping the conversation within the comforting presence of nature. With the intermingling of humans with humans and humans with nature, it is in this manner that the individual truly allows themselves the freedom to grow.

Gregoria Lounge by Ito Kish
Gregoria Lounge
Gregoria Lounge
Gregoria features the baluster, a key decorative element in traditional Filipino home designs. Gregoria is a semi-circular 2 to 3 seater lounge. Its backrest is made of kiln dried gmelina balusters in natural finish, and its seat made of split rattan solihiya in a sunburst pattern. The balusters are ornately handcarved and the solihiya handweaved.

Santamaria Stool/Storage
Inspired by the Tingkop baskets of Palawan, the Santamaria is both stool and container. The intricate weaving and the insistent functionality of the pieces are faithful to the original objects. The twist here is that the objects are done in PE plastic so that they can be used outdoors.

Dark, beautiful, and tormented. On the surface, they are powerful masculine pieces, rectangular in shape, with a dark finish and penshell detail. Turn them around and witness the deconstruction of panels turned inwards, as if about to fall into a void.

Basilisa Armoire by Ito Kish
Basilisa Armoire
Basilisa Armoire
The Basilisa armoire showcases the solihiya, an intricate weave that is both functional and decorative. Functional because it strengthens and supports the object on which it is used; decorative because of the beauty inherent in the weave itself, and the exquisite play of light and shadow it produces. Adding to the impact of the pieces is that different solihiya weave patterns were used, all culled from different parts of the Philippine archipelago.
