Yoshinoya Fast Food Restaurant
Designers Four Lau & Sam Sum used “Home” as the core design element to build a “Chic Home”, presenting the brand image as young, energetic, and warm. The shape of “House” created a marker that makes the customers easily associated with the new image “Home”. Giant Japanese chopsticks, Japanese wooden plate menus, and levels of distinctive colors have become the new image elements of Yoshinoya fast food chain. High malleability and varied house-shaped design could link different areas and makes the spaces more stereoscopic.
Designers Four Lau & Sam Sum used “Home” as the core design element to build a “Chic Home”, presenting the brand image as young, energetic, and warm. AS Design Founders Four Lau & Sam Sum would like to inject an essence of experimental art for the possibility of combining office space and art. It optimizes the visual of the workplace boredom, and also inspires employees for creative thinking. Where “Sense meets Sensibility” became the idea of designing this workplace, practical and interesting design is more attractive than simply practical. The main components of visual effect include snooker table, ping-pong table, motorcycle, mannequins, and office space, forming a simple form of “creative workspace” that we have been seeking.

UM Men's Underwear Store
Designers Four Lau and Sam Sum based on "MALE TRAITS OF KINGLINESS" as the design concept. The purpose is to highlight the extraordinary metropolis royal demeanor that made him the limelight. Display shows a replica of a streamline future transportation sculpture that appeared in movie, which is operating by a mannequin and demonstrating the men love to gain pleasure over controlling. Also it is hilarious to imagine that it is a huge banana in order to associate with the important part of men; it is the symbol of men wanting to demonstrate power, self confidence, and dignity in front of women.

Aristocrat of Empire Hotel VIP Suite Room
The design is a breakthrough from the traditional hotel room; the design is inspired by people’s constant demand to new innovations. The room represents the aristocratic style and poise of the “Empire”, customers could indulge in the extravaganza “in the dark”. Using exquisite texture layering in visual language to create a deluxe hotel design label as “a sense of Black Elegance”, designers Four Lau and Sam Sum were seeking to represent a new interpretation of aristocracy.
The design is a breakthrough from the traditional hotel room; the design is inspired by people’s constant demand to new innovations. The room represents the aristocratic style and poise of the “Empire”, customers could indulge in the extravaganza “in the dark”. Using exquisite texture layering in visual language to create a deluxe hotel design label as “a sense of Black Elegance”, designers Four Lau and Sam Sum were seeking to represent a new interpretation of aristocracy.

Fashionable Apartment
Designer Four Lau and Sam Sum think that “Fashion under the sunrise is more poetic”. We think fashion elements should not be limited to use as clothing only. The sun shines on the elegant curvy wall and its golden finishes, like a piece of flashing cloth, adding a softer and a touch of humanity to the apartment. Using the piece of cloth that was hanging on the wall of corridor was embroidered with irregular nature patterns that were commonly seen on clothing, and the glass showcase was inspired by the window of the jewelry store, creating an even more artistic atmosphere.

Designers Four Lau and Sam Sum think that “Scissors is as important as a second life to hair stylist.” It shows the endless creativity of the stylist, and also the artistic achievements of the hair being reformed by the hair stylist. Scissors is no longer only to be used as to trim hair; it can also be the embodiment of the visual aesthetics elements. The endless changing patterns of the scissors have become the focus of the project; the space is filled with artistic, elegant, and delicate fascination by the virtual and actual scissors.

Designers Four Lau & Sam Sum felt there are different opinions and philosophies between the sexes today, and hope to use the compatibility phenomenon as new image to be the core design concept of UMix shops, that men and women are compatible of the modern ideology of mutual tolerance. The use of different size, different angles of polygons to describe their own opinions and the independence idea of both the sexes, and after being compatible, not only having idea of independence, but also it will create a more extended ideological significance and provide a new space for thinking philosophy.
