Through new materials, innovative large-scale photography and a design flow that naturally follows the sales process, the designers of the 355 m² condominium sales centre honour an industrial heritage-designated building and tell the story of a future mixed-use condominium project that celebrates its roots in Toronto’s past.

Art Shoppe Lofts + Condos Condominium Sales Centre
This 560 m² condominium marketing centre in Toronto – completed in April 2015 and encompassing a presentation gallery, model suite and model loft – is housed in a re-purposed furniture showroom on the future site of the building. The deliberate pathway through the centre introduces the project from the macro to micro. Art Shoppe Lofts + Condos showcases a singular intersection of art, media and fashion to inform visitors’ visual perspective through the space; it is an ideal canvas for project branding, marketing and original artwork.

This 400 m² penthouse occupies an entire level in a new high-rise condominium in Downtown Toronto. The clients, husband and wife empty-nesters, requested a welcoming, contemporary living environment on a single floor, balancing public and private areas, with frequent opportunities for showcasing their cherished collection of art. The penthouse space, initially a near-raw shell, presented an exceptional opportunity to realize the clients' goals fully. The result: a sophisticated downtown home, with an atmosphere of warmth and informality, in a fully-modern design idiom.

Edition Richmond Urban Townhomes Presentation Centre
The 255 m² presentation centre for Edition Richmond is housed within the former auto repair shop of the defunct “Toronto Transmission & Gear Company.” The unassuming garage on site furnished a serendipitous opportunity to showcase the upcoming urban-infill homes in synergy with the past and present identities of the downtown property and neighbourhood. The garage-turned-showroom has been maintained in its original, raw state though repaired and whitewashed. White floors, walls, doors, ceilings and found objects lend an ethereal quality to the transformed space.

The Studio by Ashton Woods inspires new homeowners in their selection of exclusive finishes, fixtures and fittings. The Studio maximizes the selection process through a four-stage progression in a consistent pathway: welcome, inspiration, selection and final consultation. The Inspiration Corridor assembles a wide range of home products in complete kitchen and bath vignettes. The Selection Area features specially-designed display cabinetry, with customizable open and closed sections. Selections are uncovered in relevant doses, for proper comparison and visualization.

The project’s sales centre is housed within the adjacent Canadian Bank of Commerce Building of 1905, a designated landmark to be restored and integrated into the base of the planned high-rise. The 432 m² sales gallery harmonizes period and contemporary design, preserving original interior elements in situ while extending them with new ones.

The One Bloor presentation centre is a total environment. It uses innovative construction, materials and technology to present the ambiance of the upcoming 75-storey condominium in an area of just 223 m². Conceived as a space-in-a-space, the showroom is created from a suspended grid and moulded metal frame, which mimics the curvilinear profile of the future hi-rise. Fixtures and finishes are fixed to these structures, with little contact with the existing envelope. The presentation centre’s sculpted interior guides visitors through the galleries where the story of the planned tower unfolds.

Views are activated by an evocative and highly-tactile materiality echoing the exterior context. Stone, concrete, distressed wood and, most conspicuously, plantings are applied at amplified scale. “Nature,” in the form of artificial green walls, is re-contextualized as interior architecture. Vegetation leads the eye through the gallery, opening it up, softening it and re-defining its edges.

Villa Kishti is a 1450 m², Balinese-inspired, private family retreat in Anguilla, British West Indies. The residence challenges traditional notions of shelter and nature as separate domains, with interior and exterior blurred in a seamless interplay of architecture, interior design and landscape design. Villa Kishti produces an atmosphere of quiet contemplation for its occupants. The encircling landscape and seascape, ever changing, are constant companions in this family sanctuary where unity and solitude are nurtured in equal measure.
