There are several ecological rehabilitation parks scattered around it, including the well-know Beitou Hot Spring Area just a stone’s throw away. In the midst of a stressful and fast-paced society, is a rare and pure land, a green breathing space in a busy city, where one can be slow, immersive, and perceptive.

Sunao is located in western Taipei, a district where things go slow. To denote a renewed sense of timelessness, its designers draw on an intense sense of local life and history to make the place take on a quality of unadorned simplicity. The lush canopy of trees in Jilin Elementary School across the street adds to the site some greenness that is rare in urban life.
