Designer challenge was to gather toddler’s essential play values into one product and keep it simple and attractive. The ball figure became the most appropriated shape as it offers various possibilities. Starting from this point, designer added functions and played with patterns and shapes. The trick was to open the bead via a gentle twist system to turn it magical. Once the bead is open it reveals another bunch of possibilities (building, colours & shapes combination…). Then, came the choice of 2 tones colours to provoke curiosity.

Lalaboom rainbow arches involve technical features such as connection systems that have been integrated to universal and pure shapes. This combination bring an double dimensions to the product. In one hand, toddlers can practice basic activities and on an other hand older children will discover that they can build a large amount of architecture constructions with outstanding look. The aesthtic apporach of the product does not forget it core function and offer play value such a construction activities and a fun balance game to make the construction stand and stimulate user concentration.
