View Profile Consult Now Hire NowThe Longtan District in Taoyuan, Taiwan has a rich history. The red brick kiln smoke stacks, acacia trees, and lupin flowers are all highlights in the plateau region. Each can be felt throughout the project; the building’s facade is akin to the smoke stacks, the natural acacia trees have been transformed as a reception desk in the lobby, and the lupin flower pattern on the glass of the pavilion. The 50 households share 7 smart pandemic preventative elevators with state-of-the-art ventilation systems and hand gesture capabilities to limit touch points. Each residence also has a private mudroom.

Use surface to lower the boundary between spaces to create uniqueness. The mirror-like surface created by water and the ground is making the space feel boundless. A glass box floating on water. Elements of the Orient is injected into the space with the splash-ink technique in landscape painting. Converting the “Landscape is making me speak of them” concept to embellish the place with ambiance of Oriental culture. Mirror-like surface formed by water reflects clouds; just like a picturesque image. The floor reflects a sense of movement in landscape painting, making itself a flowing space.
