The frame DD1.3 is an avant-garde interpretation of the traditional pilot frame from the forties and fifties that propels the classic frame in a design characteristic of MYKITA / Damir Doma into the 21st century. The choice of materials provides a contrast by marrying delicate stainless steel with voluminous acetate. The sunglasses are a result of complex handcraft.

At first glance, the perfectly round MADELEINE appears to consist of two frames, but a closer look reveals the trompe l’oeil construction as an example of particularly sophisticated handcraft. Made of one piece the frame is essentially folded in half and brought into shape in a series of meticulous steps. The result is a distinctive aesthetic in which two delicate circular lenses hover in front of more solid round rims. Contrasting colours accentuate the layered concept.

The MYKITA MYLON collection is made of a lightweight polyamide material featuring outstanding individual adjustability. This special material is created layer by layer thanks to the Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technique. By reinterpreting the traditional round and oval-round panto spectacle shape that was fashionable in the 1930s, the BASKY model adds a new face to this spectacle collection which was originally designed for use in sports.
