Design is…, a selection of Brazilian Design group displayed in two hundred colorful mobiles. Each piece, in the shape of a cube, portrayed a different definition of design by creators and creatures from the universe of Brazilian Design, with less than a hundred characters. The installation created a moment for everyone to look up – a unique experience that challenged visitors’ perspectives, as if they were was seeking out stars in a constellation. Each has its own brilliance, but together they form a universe to be explored. It was a conceptual big bang.

Design is…, project started with an exhibition during São Paulo Design Week 2016, the largest design festival in Latin America. A limited, numbered edition of the book with the same title was created in celebration of the fifth anniversary of the festival and officially released last November. Two hundred creators and creatures from the universe of Brazilian design, including curators, critics, journalists, entrepreneurs, executives, entity leaders, cultural agitators and, of course, designers, coined their own definition of what design is or can be, a very rich collection of ideas.

Agraz Restaurant’s brand is inspired by Brazil’s twenty-seven states. The round symbol was inspired by the center of the Brazilian flag. The colors represent the miscegenation, diversity and the meeting of cultural globalization at the hotel. The density of the population within each Brazilian state inspired the dimensions of the stripes. The project included: menu designs, placemats and an institutional campaign. The menus enable a sensorial experience by means of the texture of the material and logo application in resin, which gives it a 3D effect. Black menus are for men and white for women

Amaranto Restaurant Institutional campaign
Institutional campaign for Amaranto restaurant in Brazil, Argentina and Chile. The client asked for a campaign whose references radically differed from the images generally used in restaurant ads, such as pictures of dishes served and the like. The design was inspired by the restaurant’s cooking concept of mixing different types of food which actually result in new flavors. The campaign, “Reinventing flavors!” was inspired by surrealism. Regular day-to day images transformed into surrealism - each person’s take on the image leads to the understanding of the sense of humor behind them.

The catalog celebrating jeweler Emar Batalha’s ten years in design presents a contemporary vision that encompasses gemstones, design and jewelry. The creation includes the perennial vision of art. In fifty years or more the book will exist as proof of the art and design created in the first quarter of the twenty-first century. The book and its wooden case will be in perfect state. They will be live witnesses of our times. The use of textures, contrasts and materials will give the reader a truly timeless feeling that digital reproduction cannot exploit.

This ring for man was inspired by several meaningful elements for law school graduates. Far from being a traditional college ring, Naja serpent ring is a handmade piece. Manufactured in 18k yellow, white and black gold, with ruby cabouchon and diamonds.With a set of symbols represented by the square, the ring never closes itself, the cabouchon ruby, the movement in the swiveling diamonds, the naja serpent and the straight lines representing life and its pathway.

This branding project was created for a sushi and temaki bar at a beach city off the coast of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The logo was inspired by the sun, by the shape of temaki rolls and by pop art, with intense and vibrant colors. Tables with holes to support the sousplats bring the innovative furniture design. Sustainability and interactivity are part of the project. Clients receive naturally dyed bamboo chopsticks, one hundred percent sustainable, in the brand colors. The walls are decorated with eighteen recycled cardboard panels with famous quotes.

Invitation created in harmony with the brand’s new concept: The meeting of taste and the spice of imagination. A playful creation, aiming to sharpen the senses, awakening feelings and emotions: tactile, olfactory and visual. The invitation was made for the launch event of the new brand and restaurant concept. Our goal was for the invitation to interact with the guests and arouse greater curiosity to ensure a greater number of guests during the event. It worked.

The main goal of this new project was to save resources. Results include: fifty percent reduction in the number of items in the visual identity manual, less paper consumption, creation of the new index structure of the visual identity manual facilitating the search for the items, improved durability (Some support materials were substituted.) And a sustainable design was achieved by replacing some plastic or TNT materials with 100% cotton fabric. All paper types specified in the new project are FSC certified papers.

This project emphasizes space reduction for package storage purposes, increasing awareness of material consumption and the high «print quality» with several graphic resources. It is also worth mentioning how easy it is to assemble the package. It only takes a few seconds. Thanks to the use of different graphic techniques, we managed to communicate feelings and emotions through the sense touch and sight.

In addition to the creation of the new brand, the new project pursued exclusivity by means of the innovative concept in the development of the graphic work. Non-traditional materials were added to the graphic process in order to provide a sophisticated visual language to the project, sharpen the senses and cause visual and tactile feelings and emotions. The project purpose was achieved thanks to the use of acrylic, grosgrain ribbons, relief printing with special textures, special dry cuts and laser cuts.
