View Profile Consult Now Hire NowThe development of the concept is based on two linked volumes parallel to one side of the site, in dialogue with the particular nature of the immediate context, addressing the site boundaries and movement. Responding to the orientation, views, wind direction, and the seasonal changes of the landscape, the complex opens up or closes, developing each time a different appearance, as the transition from the natural to the built environment establishes a system of visual and conceptual relationships and parameters that inherently affect the architectural space.

The architectural gesture of a long L shaped flowing form along the two main edges of the site seeks to create a threshold between the surrounding scenery and the resulting negative, a courtyard of similar scale to the building footprint. This fluid form narrows and widens to create tension with the enclosed courtyard but is rigid along the perimeter of the site, forming a well-defined edge. The building form stretches through a series of large pergolas to cover parts of the courtyard and to create a rather staged sequence of closed, open and semi open spaces.
The Ael Fc Arena Football Stadium organization is based on four orthogonal tiers of seats, one of which is an extension of the building volume that hosts a number of interior spaces organized appropriately to respond to this specific use. The stadium roof system creates a set of jagged surfaces while the extensive use of glass and metal shows off an airy architecture that functions as a floodlit object during the night. Here, the unpredictable refractions of natural and artificial light on the crystalline forms create a glowing drop-scene which invites you to observe it.

Alluding to the structure of a typical Mani village, the concept is conceived as a series of individual stone fragments revolving around the atrium, entrance and living spaces. The rough volumes of the residence open a dialogue with their natural surroundings, while the rhythm of their openings either ensures privacy or invites in panoramic views of the horizon, constructing a direct experience of successive and diverse narratives. The Villa is located in Navarino Residences, a collection of luxury villas for private ownership at the heart of Navarino Dunes resort.

The design proposes a dialectic relationship with the attributes found in this particular place. Situated along multiple successive levels, the modules of the rooms are reminiscent of drystone walls, while the repetitive motifs remind of a traditional Cycladic dovecote. The public spaces are located on the lower level, in a single tiered building facing the sea. As it expands towards the shoreline, the oblong swimming pool and the main outdoor area unfold and seem to reach for the horizon.
