Casulo Display Cabinet by Knót Artesanal
Casulo Display Cabinet
Casulo Display Cabinet
Casulo display cabinet has both a contemporary and organic feel. The shelves and drawer are embraced by elegant slats gently rising and falling as they surround and enclose the area within giving Casulo a sculptural presence and making it as much of a showpiece as any item displayed on its shelves. The composition of the curves and dispersed slats give rise to a slender, delicate and airy feel in contrast to its otherwise imposing presence.

Canela for Two Seat by Knót Artesanal
Canela for Two Seat
Canela for Two Seat
Canela for Two was designed to be a visually striking lover's bench. It has a low backrest which offers good support while also maintaining a subtle design. Inspiration was taken from a traditional Windsor chair albeit with a modern twist with the copper rod backrest. The wood used was reclaimed Canela Preta from a 200 year old colonial house in Paraty Brazil. In keeping with that history, copper rings with wooden centres were used not to hide the holes left from removing the old nails, but to mark the position that they previously occupied.

Canela Armchair
Canela was designed to be a comfortable yet striking and elegant piece of furniture. The traditional joinery ensures that it's rigidity is derived from the structural design and not the thickness of the components, allowing these to be kept 'light' and delicate. The introduction of copper against the dark wood helps to set it apart visually, particularly from behind.

Triz Lamp by Knót Artesanal
Triz Lamp
Triz Lamp
The singular design of Triz allows it to be wall mounted in a total of six orientations, suspended from the ceiling or placed on a flat surface. The system for wall hanging which remains visible when suspended from the ceiling has itself been designed as an aesthetic feature resembling a dragonfly and as such a single screw is all that is required for wall mounting in any of the six positions. Each Triz is handmade using traditional woodworking methods and native Brazilian hard woods.

Pendú Organiser shelf by Knót Artesanal
Pendú Organiser shelf
Pendú Organiser shelf
Pendú was conceived as a 'welcome home' shelf. Designed to be placed by the front door where one can free themselves from all the various objects they carry around. Underneath it possesses two magnets for attaching keys and three hooks for bags or necklaces. The flat shelf surface can accommodate phones and wallets and has two overlapping depressions for coins or other small loose items. It also includes a mirror for any final checks when heading out the door. The ‘T’ slots used to secure it in place remain hidden once it is fixed to the wall.

Komodo Bedside organiser by Knót Artesanal
Komodo Bedside organiser
Komodo Bedside organiser
Being wall mounted, Komodo was able to maintain a minimal style. It was designed to accommodate the overnight essentials that one takes to bed. A glass of water, a phone and a lamp can all easily fit on the upper surface while magazines, books or tablets can be slotted into the shelf below. The opening to the shelf was placed on the side as this allows easier access from a reclined position. The minimal design as well as being attention grabbing, also disregards traditional features (legs, door & drawers) and strips it back to the bare bones of what is really necessary.
